The promising player plunged his opponents into despair.
Footballer Ulvi Babaev has recently become a desirable target for big Russian clubs. The Dynamo Moscow winger, in a match for the youth team, showed why a real hunt could begin for him in the near future, and in added time he deprived his opponents of points.
“Very good opponents”
Babaev is having a good season at Dynamo after returning from a one-year loan from Krylya Sovetov. The 21-year-old player showed himself especially brightly in the match against the Samara team, scoring a hat-trick in the cup match. He also scored the winning goal against Zenit.
Now the footballer is in the last year of his contract, but, according to journalist Ivan Karpov, the player cannot come to a common denominator with the leadership of the “blue and white” on the terms of the new agreement. Against the backdrop of Babaev’s successful play, rumors of interest from Spartak do not look unrealistic.
Now Babaev is at the disposal of the youth team, which went to Kyrgyzstan to play in the Manas Cup. Our team’s opponents were the national teams of Iran, Bahrain and the hosts of the tournament. True, the players there are two years older.
– Very good opponents. It’s probably not worth singling out anyone, because I personally don’t know the level. Today we sorted out the Iranian national team, we are starting to prepare. I think we will show a good game,” said the senior coach of the youth team, Ivan Shabarov, before leaving for Manas, as quoted by the official website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
The start turned out to be good for our team. The Russians beat the future participants of the Asian Cup for players under 23 years of age, the Iranians, with a score of 2:0. The captain of the opponents was Dynamo Makhachkala player Mohammadjavad Hosseinnejadmakhalenkolay. But our players did not allow the midfielder to make any impact.

Waiting for time didn’t help
On Saturday, Russia met with Bahrain, which looks more modest compared to other rivals. The team will not take part in the Asian Peer Cup as it did not qualify. The Bahrainis would probably consider any point taken away from our team as luck. And they were very close to this.
In regular time, not a single goal was scored, it seemed that the meeting would end in a goalless draw, because the ninth added minute was already underway, and the Bahrain team players were stalling for time in every possible way. The replacement looked especially ugly. Ebrahim Saud, who was leaving the field, initially received a yellow card for taking too long, but continued to waddle. Only the referee running towards him made the football player speed up to the loud laughter of his teammates.
The referee, apparently, also didn’t really like what happened at the end of the match. He was in no hurry to blow the whistle for the end, although the teams replayed more than was added. This played into the hands of the Russians. Babaev, who appeared in the second half, took advantage of Ilya Kirsh’s discount and irresistibly shot with the outside of his foot into the far corner.
In the 11th added minute, Ulvi also managed to score a double. The second goal was no worse than the first. The Dynamo winger impressively hammered the ball into the goal with a diving header after Daniil Motorin’s cross.
The disappointment of the Bahrainis after such a disappointing defeat knew no bounds. Some were lying exhausted on the lawn, while others were literally gnawing on a T-shirt in despair. Our guys can be happy with the result, because they are one step away from winning the Manas Cup. In the decisive match, our team will play against Kyrgyzstan.
