Valeri Karpin he no longer plans to work at one of the clubs while in charge of the Russian national football team. He talked about it on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
On November 17, Karpin left his position as head coach of Dinamo Moscow. He explained his decision by the desire to concentrate on work in the Russian national team.
“While the coach of the national team, the topic [о совмещении] closed,” Karpin said.
The specialist also told the details about the departure from Dynamo Moscow. “The thought came to me after the match against Akron before the national team’s training camp in November, during the training camp I tried not to think about it,” he added. “After the match against the Chileans I took another day and two nights to finally reflect on everything and make a decision.”
Karpin is 56 years old and has worked at Rostov since 2017. In August 2021 he left the club to take up a similar position in the Russian national team, but in March 2022 he returned to work at Rostov, deciding to combine the positions. Previously, Karpin coached Armavir Torpedo, Spartak Moscow and Spain’s Mallorca.
