Former head coach of Kairat Keker died at the age of 47

The former head coach of Kairat from Almaty, Kirill Keker, died at the age of 46, the press service of the Kazakhstan Football Federation reports.

The cause of Keker’s death has not been specified.

— The death of Kirill Sergeevich is a sad event for the entire Kazakh football community. His professionalism, responsibility and many years of conscientious work made a great contribution to the development of domestic football. The Federation expresses its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, the statement said.

Keker served as head coach of Kairat from 2022 to 2024. Previously, Keker also headed the Kazakh Hephaestus. Kecker’s last place of work was the Kazakhstan youth team (players no older than 19 years old). Under his leadership, the team reached the elite qualifying round of the 2026 European Championship.
