Matvey Safonov recognized as the best football player of the Intercontinental Cup final
Russian goalkeeper of the French PSG Matvey Safonov was recognized as the best football player in the Intercontinental Cup final against the Brazilian Flamengo.
The meeting in Ar Rayyan (Qatar) ended with PSG winning in a penalty shootout (1:1, 2:1), Safonov saved four shots.
For the Russian goalkeeper, this is the sixth trophy for PSG.
Safonov is 26 years old and moved to PSG in the summer of 2024. Together with the Parisians, he won the championship, the French Cup and the French Super Cup, as well as the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.
