Former Russian national football player Dmitry Chokhlov said he had not received any money from the lawsuit against the American social network over the removal of his surname by moderators. Specialist commentary is provided by Sport Express.
On September 22, 2021, Khokhlov filed a lawsuit against the social network because the social network’s moderators often ban him for several days due to the consonance of his surname with the colloquial nickname of Ukrainians. On October 18, the Solntsevsky District Court of Moscow recovered 65 million 671 thousand rubles from the social network in favor of the former footballer.
“The bailiffs say that they cannot execute the court’s decision because the defendant is outside our country. It is not known when he will appear here. The company’s main office is located in USAso no one will pay. We have no leverage. Initially, the lawyers planned to collect the debt through an American court, but realized that there was no possibility. The laws, the observance of which is much talked about, operate there in one direction. But nothing, at least I received moral compensation. If they clear your name, you have to fight,” Khokhlov said.
Khokhlov is 50 years old and is the youth coach of Lokomotiv in Moscow. During his coaching career, the specialist has led Sochi, Dynamo Moscow, Rotor Volgograd and Kuban Krasnodar over the years.
As a player, Khokhlov played for Moscow CSKATorpedo, Lokomotiv and Dynamo, Dutch PSVas well as Spain’s Real Sociedad. He played as a member of the Russian national team from 1996 to 2005, playing at the 1996 European Championship and the 2002 World Championship. As part of the national team, he took part in 53 matches, scoring six goals.
