The Moscow football club “Dynamo” was approved Roland Gusev as the team’s head coach. He will lead the blue and white until the end of the season.

Previously, Gusev held the role of head coach following the departure from the club of Valery Karpin, who left the post of Dynamo coach on November 17.

Gusev himself addressed the Dynamo fans, emphasizing personal motivation and responsibility for the team’s results. “It is a great honor for me to lead my hometown club, where I once took my first steps in football. I understand all the responsibilities and expectations of our fans and management. Dynamo is a great club that should always fight for the highest places. We will work hard in the winter to properly prepare for the second part of the season. Gusev has already served as Dynamo’s head coach twice – the first time this happened after the departure of Czech Marcel Licka at the end of last season. Under his leadership, the team then achieved three victories and suffered one defeat in the Russian Premier League (RPL).

Chairman of the Dynamo board of directors Alexander Ivlev expressed hope for support of the coaching staff and players from the fans in the second half of the season. “We congratulate Rolan Gusev on his appointment and really hope that the fans will support the coaching staff and the entire team in the second part of the season. Honorary President of the Russian Football Federation Vyacheslav Koloskov called the decision of the Dynamo management correct. “Gusev is already a proven person for the club. Previously, Gusev had criticized the players’ fitness, accusing Karpin’s coaching staff of insufficient preparation, but he later apologized and admitted he was wrong.
