Former player of the German football club Erzgebirge Sebastian Hertner he died at the age of 34. This was reported by the club’s press service.
“The Erzgebirge Football Club mourns the loss of former player Sebastian Hertner and expresses our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. The footballer died on 20 December 2025 in a tragic accident during the winter holidays; he was 34 years old,” the team’s press service said in a statement.
Hertner graduated from Stuttgart; in the second Bundesliga, the defender played 95 matches for 1860 Munich, Erzgebirge and Darmstadt 98, scoring 4 assists.
Hertner played 5 matches for the German national youth team (players under 19).
