Former Spartak president Andrei Chervichenko told Match TV that the ex-head coach of the “red and whites” Dejan Stankovic was removed completely for the sake of business.

On Monday, Red Star Zvezda announced the return of Stankovic as head coach of the team. At a press conference, the Serbian specialist said that while working at Spartak, he was worried about the work of Russian judges.

— Stankovic constantly lied and was a hypocrite. And if you answer the question whether the referees oppressed him and Spartak, it is better to look at the statistics and see how many times the referees made mistakes in favor of the “red-whites” and how many times in favor of the opponent. It seems to me that Spartak is definitely not the most oppressed club. Stankovic was sent off completely for good reason, and our championship is definitely not a place for people like him,” Chervichenko told Match TV.

In November, Stankovic left Spartak Moscow. The Serb has worked for the Russian club since the summer of 2024 and failed to win a single trophy with the team.

In September, Stankovic was disqualified for one month in all competitions under the auspices of the Russian Football Union (RFU) for insulting the head referee in the eighth round match of the MIR RPL with Dynamo Moscow. In May, the Serb was disqualified for three matches of the Russian Cup for insulting the referees in a game with Rostov.
