The oldest player in the world, striker Kazuyoshi Miura, has decided to spend another year in professional football, Japan Today reports.

In the upcoming season, he will play for Fukushima United from the third division of the Japanese championship.

For the 58-year-old Miura, this will be his 41st year in his professional career.

The forward’s career began in 1986. He played for Santos (Brazil), Genoa (Italy), Sydney (Australia), Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia), Japanese Vissel Kobe, Verdi Kawasaki, Yokohama and many other clubs.

He played 89 matches for the Japanese national team and scored 55 goals.
