Bongonda’s goal brought the DR Congo team victory over Benin at the African Cup of Nations
The DR Congo team beat the Benin team in the first round match of the group stage at the African Cup of Nations.
The Group D meeting in Rabat ended with a score of 1:0. The only goal was scored by Spartak Moscow midfielder Theo Bongonda, who scored in the 16th minute.
Bongonda was named man of the match.
In the next round, the DR Congo team will play with the Senegal team, the Benin team will meet with the Botswana team. Both matches will take place on December 27.
The African Cup of Nations takes place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
