German footballer Hertner died in a ski resort
Former Erzgebirge defender Sebastian Hertner died at the age of 34, the press service of the German club reports.
“The Erzgebirge mourns the loss of its former player Sebastian Hertner and expresses sincere condolences to his family and loved ones,” the club said in a statement.
According to Bild, the tragedy occurred on Saturday at the Savin-Kuk ski resort (Montenegro). An athlete, while climbing a lift, fell from a height of 70 meters.
Härtner has 105 appearances for the Erzgebirge, scoring one goal and six assists. The German also played for Stuttgart II, where he played 65 matches and scored one goal.
