Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov: “I followed Ovechkin’s record. I told everyone in the USA that this is our Russian guy.”
The Russian football player of the Sporting Kansas City club Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov admitted on Match TV that he followed Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin on his way to a record in the NHL.
Ovechkin is 40 years old. Last season, the Russian broke Wayne Gretzky’s record and became the best sniper in the history of the NHL regular championships. Currently he has 911 goals. Taking into account the playoffs, Ovechkin (988 goals) is second, behind only Gretzky (1016).
