Le Parisien newspaper recognized Matvey Safonov as the best PSG player in December
Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was named the best football player of Paris Saint-Germain in December according to Le Parisien.
Safonov played four matches in December and helped PSG win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. In the final of the tournament against the Brazilian Flamengo, the Russian saved four consecutive shots in the penalty shootout. Le Parisien journalists rated Safonov’s performance in this match at 9.5 points, and the goalkeeper’s average score in the first month of winter was 7.25. Second place went to midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery (7), third place went to defender Viljan Pacho (6.31).
For the previous four months, the publication recognized Portuguese midfielder Vitinho as the best PSG player.
