The RFU confirmed the possibility of deducting points from clubs in case of debt
Vice-President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Denis Solovyov, in a conversation with Match TV, did not rule out that in case of financial debt, points would be deducted from RPL clubs.
Earlier, RB Sport reported that the RFU intends to introduce additional sanctions against clubs that have overdue debts on transfer payments or payments to agents.
— Isn’t deducting points if clubs are in debt too harsh a punishment?
— Is it normal to take on financial obligations that you cannot fulfill? As a person who works in business, I can say that there is no need to take on such obligations, this is not normal. Otherwise, be prepared to be punished.
— Is such an initiative really possible next year?
“Yes,” Solovyov told Match TV.
