“I believed that Dynamo would compete for the championship with Karpin” – Tyukavin
Dynamo Moscow forward Konstantin Tyukavin said that he had high hopes for the appointment of Valery Karpin as the team’s head coach in the summer.
Karpin left Dynamo in November, the team is in 10th place in the MIR RPL standings. At the end of December, Rolan Gusev was approved as the head coach of Dynamo.
— Karpin’s appointment is a separate issue. There were thoughts that Valery Georgievich might come to us. Of course, I believed that we would compete with him for the championship. I expected that we would tear, rush around, and win. But it turned out the other way around.
I still can’t find the answer to what exactly didn’t work. The answer was not found even in conversations with the players: the players are the strongest, all the conditions are there. But something went wrong,” Sports quotes Tyukavin as saying.
