Former CSKA football player Alexander Grishin said on Match TV that Spartak extended the contract with midfielder Roman Zobnin for one year, since he had hardly played recently.

On Friday, Spartak announced the extension of the contract with the 31-year-old football player until 2027. Zobnin has been playing for the “red-whites” since July 2016. As part of the team, the midfielder became the champion of Russia and the winner of the national Cup.

– This is a safety player. He takes on all positions when Spartak is missing someone. In the last two years he has not played in the main team. Therefore, the contract with him is for one year to insure his position. For me, this is a 50/50 signing. He is a good footballer, but he is a substitute. In some games he barely plays at all. Most likely, he took a pay cut. If he was left only to “hold the locker room,” then this is stupid,” Grishin said on the air of the “Everyone for the Match!” program. on Match TV.

This season, Zobnin played 19 matches for Spartak in the MIR RPL and FONBET Russian Cup, scoring one goal.
