Gasilin admitted that he dreams of becoming the sports director of Zenit

Former Zenit and Russian youth team footballer Alexei Gasilin said in an interview with Match TV that he dreams of becoming a sports director of a St. Petersburg club.

Gasilin is 29 years old, he is a student of Zenit. In February 2022, the forward completed his professional career.

— And if we talk about the desire to become a manager in football, then the conditional position of sports director at Zenit is your main dream?

– Of course, yes. Zenit is my boundless love. Of course I have to be impartial. Although, as an expert, I always sensibly evaluate Zenit’s game. But this club and St. Petersburg are love. Working as a sports director at such a club is great. Moreover, I think that the seasons are not far off when we will return to the international arena and we will have European Cups. Naturally, this is a dream.

At the same time, I also want to work at the luxurious Zenit academy. My desire is to change our football for the better. And so, I will be the Minister of Sports in the future (laughs). I want to live for the benefit of our society and make our nation healthier: so that everyone plays football. I wish to develop this wonderful game. As I already said, I am deeply convinced that we are a football nation. And the goal of my life is to somehow influence our team to become the world football champion. We need to see this live,” Gasilin told Match TV.

Gasilin also played for the second team of the German Schalke, Perm Amkar, Portuguese Akademika, Tom, Astrakhan Volgar, St. Petersburg Zvezda, Cypriot Ermis, Leningradets and the media football club Amkal.
