Captain of the Moscow football club “Lokomotiv” Dmitry Barinov he will not go to training camp with the team due to negotiations for the transfer to the capital CSKA. This was reported by the Lokomotiv press service.
The Lokomotiv retreat will take place in United Arab Emirates. The first stage is scheduled for January 13th to 24th.
“After Lokomotiv’s medical today CSKA submitted a new request to buy the rights of Dmitry Barinov, which significantly exceeds the initial offer. In this situation, Lokomotiv resumed negotiations. Therefore, the club has currently decided not to send Barinov to training camp with the team until the situation in the negotiations is resolved,” said Lokomotiv’s sporting director. Dmitry Ulyanov.
Previously it became known that Barinov decided not to sign a new agreement with Lokomotiv. The current contract expires in the summer of 2026. The midfielder told Sport Express he was aware of the external interest CSKA.
Barinov is 29 years old. He graduated from Lokomotiv, for whose main team he played 274 matches in various tournaments, scoring 13 goals and 27 assists. As part of the club, the footballer won the Russian Cup three times (2017, 2019, 2021) and the championship once (2018) and the national Super Cup (2019).
Barinov took part in 23 matches for the Russian national team, recording 2 assists. Together with the national team, he participated in the final part of the European Championship, which took place in the summer of 2021. In this tournament, the Russian team won one match out of three and could not leave the group.
