Former Russian national team player Igor Semshov said on Match TV that the departure of Dmitry Barinov would be a loss for Lokomotiv and a good gain for CSKA.

On Tuesday, CSKA communications director Kirill Breido said that the army club had reached an agreement in principle with Lokomotiv on the transfer of Barinov. After passing the medical examination, the railway captain must become an army player.

— If Barinov signs a contract with CSKA, it will be a loss for Lokomotiv. This football player became a symbol of Lokomotiv. Like Akinfeev in CSKA, like Titov in Spartak. It’s a bit of a shame that he won’t spend his entire career in one club.

This is a good option for CSKA and for Barinov himself. Dmitry is performing well this season, and that’s why the army team became interested in signing him. Apparently they offered him a more lucrative contract. Plus, you don’t need to move anywhere from Moscow. In such a situation, the decision remains with the player,” Semshov said on the air of the “Everyone for the Match!” program. on Match TV.

The 29-year-old football player’s current contract with the railway workers runs until the end of June 2026. This season, Barinov played 17 matches in the MIR RPL, scored three goals and made four assists.
