Shalimov: “I think that Barinov was offended by Lokomotiv”

Former Russian national team player Igor Shalimov said on Match TV that Lokomotiv Moscow made mistakes in negotiations with Dmitry Barinov.

Former Lokomotiv captain Barinov moved to CSKA on Tuesday, signing a contract until the end of the 2028/29 season.

— I think that Lokomotiv did not do enough work on Barinov. I wonder when they started negotiating with him? If you want to extend such a player, you need to start negotiations a year before the contract expires.

Barinov spent his entire career at Lokomotiv. The club academy graduate made his debut for the main team in May 2015. In total, he played 274 matches for the railway workers, scored 13 goals and gave 27 assists. As part of the club, he became the champion of Russia, won four Cups and one Super Cup of the country.
