The reason for Maresca’s dismissal from Chelsea was an excessively harsh attitude towards football players – media
Former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, shortly before his dismissal, came into conflict with the club’s management due to too strict demands on players, the Daily Mail claims.
According to the source, the club’s management was outraged by the way Maresca treated players who had recently recovered from injuries. The Italian specialist did not follow the doctors’ recommendations and did not replace the players who returned from the hospital at the end of the matches.
The management was forced to appoint a physical therapy specialist, Bryce Kavanagh, to Maresca’s headquarters, who reminded the head coach of the players’ condition and developed recovery plans.
Maresca was fired on January 1. He was replaced by the Englishman Liam Rosenior.
Chelsea is in eighth place in the Premier League standings after 21 rounds. The Londoners have 31 points.
