Russian coach and former adviser to the president of CSKA Valery Nepomnyashchiy said that Lokomotiv must compensate for the departure of midfielder Dmitry Barinov, and the army team won in the deal for his transfer.

The former captain of Lokomotiv moved to CSKA on Tuesday, signing a contract until the end of the 2028/29 season.

— Of course, Lokomotiv lost in the deal with CSKA for Barinov. I can say that railway workers are no strangers to finding themselves in such situations. Important and strong players constantly leave them, but they know how to quickly find replacements, and new leaders appear in the team. Barinov has already become one of the club’s legends. He had a great influence on the team, a strong character, and a lot of experience. Therefore, Lokomotiv lost in this deal, and CSKA remained in the black.

Yes, it seems that CSKA has a full complement of quality players in the middle of the field, but I think that after Barinov’s arrival at the club, some players will be freed from defensive duties and will begin to go more into attack. I see a trio – Barinov, Kislyak, Oblyakov – and it’s a bomb!

Many people believe that Lokomotiv should have agreed to extend the contract with Barinov and not let him go to a competitor? This is a normal deal. Football has long become a business in which everyone has their own interests,” Metaratings.ru quotes Nepomniachtchi as saying.

Barinov spent his entire career at Lokomotiv. The club academy graduate made his debut for the main team in May 2015. In total, he played 274 matches for the railway workers, scored 13 goals and gave 27 assists. As part of the club, he became the champion of Russia, won four Cups and one Super Cup of the country.
