Kavazashvili about Barinov’s transfer to CSKA: “The army team needed a cementing “godfather”

Former Spartak goalkeeper Anzor Kavazashvili told Match TV that CSKA needed a player like midfielder Dmitry Barinov.

The former captain of Lokomotiv moved to CSKA on Tuesday, signing a contract until the end of the 2028/29 season.

— Barinov officially became a CSKA player. How much will he strengthen the army team, in your opinion?

– Of course, this is very cool, he will strengthen the team. What they needed was a midfield player today to link defense with attack. The young boys who play for CSKA bring a lot of benefit to the team with their talent and their ability to work well individually. They needed a cementing “godfather”. A person who unites others around him, sets up the game, makes a play pattern – a sharp transition from defense to attack, supplying balls to the players in front in time. They have Musaev, who purely performs the functions of a central striker, but he does not yet have the same skill as, say, Dziuba, who can work a miracle in any situation in a small area and play correctly, score a goal or give a pass in difficult situations.

The acquisition of Barinov is a very strong move for CSKA and a loss for Lokomotiv,” Kavazashvili told Match TV.

Barinov spent his entire career at Lokomotiv; a graduate of the club’s academy made his debut for the main team in May 2015. In total, he played 274 matches for the railway workers, scored 13 goals and gave 27 assists. As part of the club, he became the champion of Russia, won four Cups and one Super Cup of the country.

Karpin: “Everyone at Real Sociedad is really looking forward to Zakharyan’s return”

The management of Real Sociedad anxiously awaits the return of the Russian midfielder to the field Arsen Zakharyanwhich is restored after damage. The coach of the Russian national team told the press Valery Karpin.

Recall that Zakharyan could not take part in the match of the 20th round of the Spanish Examples against Barcelona (2:1) due to muscle problems. Representatives of the club’s press service informed that the player will also miss the next match with Celta, scheduled for January 25.

“Arsene doesn’t just have injuries, or even many. He has a slight mechanical injury to the muscle, which caused a small micro-tear. It can happen to anyone. It took him a long time to recover from a mechanical injury to his ankle; his physiology and physical condition have nothing to do with it; there could also be viruses. I think he himself is perplexed. Everyone in the club is also waiting for his return, they believe, they hope,” Karpin said.

Mbappe scored a penalty with a “panenka” and dedicated it to Brahim Diaz

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe scored a penalty at the end of the La Liga match against Villarreal (2:0).

As the Real Madrid striker left the Estadio de la Ceramica last night, he was asked if the penalty had been in the style of Antonina Panenki something to do with Brahim Diaz. In the recent African Cup of Nations final, the Moroccan missed a penalty kick in the last seconds of the match against Senegal, hitting it with a “panenka”.

Mbappé, well aware of what was being asked of him, said: “Yes, I fully support him.”

Mbappe’s decision to dedicate the Panenka-style penalty to Brahim sparked mixed reactions from fans.

Some understand it and see it as a noble gesture towards a teammate in difficulty, while others see it as a real mockery: scoring a goal that the Moroccan failed to score and then dedicating it to him, reminding him of the failure.
