According to US tax documents, the salary of the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino has quadrupled since his appointment as head of the organization, Le Monde reports.
When he succeeded Sepp Blatter in 2016, his salary was $1.5 million a year.
Infantino’s annual salary reached $6.133 million. This amount includes $2.954 million in base salary, $1.874 million in bonuses, $1.148 million in “other reportable compensation” and $155 thousand in “retirement and other deferred compensation.”
According to documents, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar brought Infantino a bonus of 1.77 million euros.
In 2026, the World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026 in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
