Former Manchester United and England national football team striker Wayne Rooney said that he had problems with his hearing.
Rooney works on the Match of the Day program on the BBC channel. In preparation for one of the broadcasts, the ex-Everton player, addressing members of the film crew, asked them to move the earphone to the right ear.
-Can I use this ear? The problem is that I am deaf in my left ear. So when it’s too loud it’s hard for me to hear what Kelly Cates is saying [ведущая] or anyone else,” Rooney said in a video posted on YouTube.
Rooney is 40 years old and played for Manchester United from 2004 to 2017. As part of the team, he became a five-time champion of England, winner of the Champions League and Europa League. He also played for Everton, DC United, and Derby County. Rooney scored 53 goals in 120 appearances for England and was the team’s all-time top scorer until his achievement was surpassed by Harry Kane in 2023. After his career ended, Rooney worked as a coach at several clubs.
