Some of the Senegal national team players left the field in protest against the refereeing in stoppage time of the African Cup final against Morocco.
The match takes place in Rabat (Morocco). In added time to the second half, Senegal midfielder Ismaila Sarr scored a goal against the hosts, but it was cancelled. Six minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty against the Senegal team.
After this, most of the Senegalese players left the field, but then returned after the persuasion of Sadio Mane.
In the 24th minute of added time, Morocco national team midfielder Brahim Diaz kicked the penalty kick into the center of the goal – Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy caught the ball.
Regular time of the match ended with the score 0:0. The final is now in extra time.
