The Senegal team won the African Cup for the second time in history

The Senegal team beat the Moroccan team in the final of the African Cup.

Regular time of the meeting in Rabat (Morocco) ended with the score 0:0. In added time to the second half, Senegal midfielder Ismaila Sarr scored a goal against the hosts, but it was cancelled. Six minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty against the Senegal team.

After this, most of the Senegalese players left the field, but then returned after the persuasion of Sadio Mane.

In the 24th minute of added time, Morocco national team midfielder Brahim Diaz kicked the penalty kick into the center of the goal – Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy caught the ball.

In the fourth minute of extra time, midfielder Pape Gueye scored a goal and brought victory to the Senegalese team.

The Senegal team won the African Cup for the second time in history. Four years ago, they beat the Egyptian team in a penalty shootout (0:0, 4:2 in a penalty shootout).
