Belgian football club Brugge was unable to take off at the scheduled time from Astana airport after the Champions League match against Kazakhstan’s Kairat due to the plane’s frozen engines. The newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reports it.
He notes that the team spent 5 hours at the airport before flying to Belgium.
The meeting between Bruges and Kairat took place on January 20 and ended with the victory of the Belgian club with a score of 4:1. The Kazakh team is based in Almaty, but played its home matches of the general phase of the Champions League in Astana.
“Kairat” participates in the Champions League for the first time and lost its chances of reaching the playoffs. In the final phase on January 28th Kairat will play away against English Arsenal, Bruges will host French side Marseille.
