The new coach of the Moscow football club “Spartak” is Spanish Juan Carcedo it is a mystery for the former red and white captain Yegor Titov. Titov spoke about it to Sport Express.
On 5 January, Spartak announced the appointment of 52-year-old Carcedo as head coach; signed a contract until the summer of 2028. Previously, the specialist worked in Paphos, Cyprus.
“I can say that I knew little about the career Carcedo worked with [Унаи] Emery knows what Spartak is, in these 14 years he has gained experience, he has ambitions, foundations – said Titov. – I came with my coaching staff, but I’ll say right away that it’s very good that they retained Vadim Romanov. There is a person who can advise me. Honestly, Carcedo is a mystery to me. But there is a sports unit that analyzed the coach’s work and made a decision.”
Carcedo has been in charge of Paphos since July 2023. Under his leadership, the team has won the national championship and cup. Paphos plays in the general phase of the Champions League. The Spaniard has already worked at Spartak in 2012 in Unai Emery’s technical staff and subsequently helped him in Spanish Sevilla, in the French PSG and the English Arsenal.
