Flick confirms Ter Stegen’s departure to Girona
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is leaving for Girona, said Blue Garnet head coach Hans-Dieter Flick.
Earlier, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Girona was renting a German goalkeeper.
– Ter Stegen announced this morning that he is moving to Girona. He’s a fantastic goalkeeper. This is the right decision and I wish him all the best. He is a wonderful person and an excellent goalkeeper,” Marca quotes Flick as saying.
The German goalkeeper played one match for Barcelona this season, the player was recovering from an injury. The main goalkeeper of the team was Joan Garcia.
Ter Stegen has been playing for the Blaugrana since the summer of 2014 after moving from Borussia Monchengladbach. The 33-year-old goalkeeper’s agreement with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2028.
