Ex-footballer of Real Madrid, Barcelona and the French national team Lucien Muller-Schmidt has died
Former Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder Lucien Muller-Schmidt died at the age of 92, the press service of the French football club Reims reports.
Müller-Schmidt played in France for Strasbourg, Toulouse and Reims. He also played in Spain for Real Madrid and Barcelona, winning trophies with both clubs. With Real Madrid he won the Spanish Championship three times, and with the Catalans he won the Fairs Cup and the Copa del Rey.
“Reims Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Lucien Muller, a true legend of our team, who played 201 matches and scored 31 goals in red and white. A key player in the club’s golden years, he was twice French champion with Reims. “We express our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the man who left a mark in the history of our club,” Reims said in a statement on the club’s social networks.
For the French national team, Müller-Schmidt played 16 matches and scored three goals.
