The 2016 European champion Nani has signed a contract with Aktobe

Forward Dwarveswho won the 2016 European Championship with the Portuguese national team, will now play for the Kazakh Aktobe. The athlete informed the public about this on his account on the X platform.

Information on the specific terms of the agreement between the club and the player was not disclosed.

“I am very happy to join Aktobe and look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the development of the club and football in Kazakhstan. I am very impressed with the club’s vision for the future and will work hard to take us to new heights both at home and abroad,” Nani wrote.

At the age of 39, at the end of 2024, Nani ended his career as a professional player, saying goodbye to the Portuguese Estrela Amadora. Over the years he played, he managed to play for several famous teams, including Portuguese Sporting, English Manchester United, Turkish Fenerbahce and Spanish Valencia. Furthermore, the midfielder played in Italy with Lazio and Venezia, in USA for Orlando, in Australia for Melbourne Victory and in Türkiye for Adana Demirspor.

Nani is the winner of four Premier League titles and the FA Super Cup, as well as a two-time League Cup winner. He also won the Champions League and Club World Cup with Manchester United. With Sporting he won the Portuguese Cup three times and the League Cup once.

Nani played 111 games for the Portuguese national team, scoring 24 goals and as many assists. At the triumphant Euro 2016 for the Portuguese, he played all seven matches, scoring three goals and providing one assist. In 2017, he helped his national team win bronze medals at the Confederations Cup in Russia. The third place match in that tournament remains his last appearance for the Portuguese national team.

“Aktobe” took fifth place in the completed Kazakhstan championship.
