The National Football League received a historical name, 18 teams will play in the 2022/23 season

The Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) approved the decision of the Presidium of the Football National League (FNL) to return the historical name of the tournament – the First League, the press service of the RFU reports.
Previously, the tournament was called FNL-1. The change takes effect from the 2022/23 season.
Also, the RFU Executive Committee approved the regulations and the composition of the participants of the First League next season. 18 clubs will take part in the tournament: Akron (Togliatti), Alania (Vladikavkaz), Arsenal (Tula), Baltika (Kaliningrad), Veles (Moscow), Volga (Ulyanovsk), Volgar (Astrakhan), Dynamo (Makhachkala), Yenisei (Krasnoyarsk), KAMAZ (Naberezhnye Chelny), Krasnodar-2, Kuban (Krasnodar), Neftekhimik (Nizhnekamsk), Rodina (Moscow) , Rubin (Kazan), SKA-Khabarovsk, Ufa and Shinnik (Yaroslavl).
