CSKA midfielder Jorge Carrascal said in an interview with Match TV that he was not going to use the permission of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to suspend the agreement with the Russian club.
FIFA previously allowed legionnaires from the Russian Premier League (RPL) to suspend existing contracts with clubs for the 2022/23 season. Players can exercise this right until June 30.
I won’t take this opportunity. I have a long contract with CSKA. I am very glad to play in this team, I am satisfied and happy with everything. Now my life is connected with this club. I’m not going to change anything and I don’t plan to leave somewhere, ”Carrascal told Match TV.
The football player admitted that at first his relatives were worried about him, but from an early age he got used to being responsible for his decisions.
— The club cares about us, about our safety. We were given to understand that if something out of the ordinary happens, the club will not leave us and will even help with the departure to a safe place. The management reassured the players, surrounded by care and warmth, so there is nothing to worry about. In Moscow, a calm and stable life, no problems. I love football and here I have the opportunity to do what I love. Why go somewhere or hide? I do not understand. I’m happy here,” the Colombian added.
