Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to join David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami and is likely to remain at Manchester United as captain, according to the Daily Star.
Beckham wanted to buy Ronaldo this summer to improve the image of Inter Miami, but was not successful.
New Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag will discuss with Ronaldo, 37, his future in the team and may offer him to become its captain.
English side Chelsea and German side Bayern are showing interest in Ronaldo, who returned to Manchester United last summer.
Last season, Cristiano scored 24 goals in 39 games for Manchester United with three assists, but the season for the team was unsuccessful against the backdrop of a lack of trophies and a failure to qualify for the Champions League. The player’s contract with Manchester United is valid until June 30, 2023, the current transfer fee of Ronaldo, according to Transfermarkt, is 30 million euros.
