Shirokov proposed a budget option for Spartak for the role of a coach
If Spartak was looking for a budget option for the role of head coach, he could consider the option of appointing Yevgeny Bushmanov, ex-football player of the capital club and the Russian national team Roman Shirokov believes.
– It is logical to turn to Valera [Карпину]. But as I understand it, it was necessary to pay compensation to Rostov and fulfill any conditions.
One could consider Fedotov, but CSKA did a brilliant job. There was a foreigner left – apparently, they kept in mind the young promising Tedesco. They think it was a good experience with Tedesco.
– Is Abascal a cheaper coach?
– But there is Bushmanov, if you need a budget option. And it would be possible to integrate young guys. Spartak has a team, you can play good football. Since a foreigner chooses, he will choose a foreigner. Plus, the leadership is more focused on Europe, – Shirokov told RB Sport.
Abascal replaced Italian Paolo Vanoli as head coach of the Red-Whites on June 10. The contract of the 33-year-old Spanish specialist with the club is for two years. At the end of the 2021/22 season, Abascal served as the head coach of Basel. The team won silver in the Swiss championship. Bushmanov led the red-whites’ second team from 2013 to 2017 and from 2021 to 2022.
