Former Spartak football player Roman Shirokov expressed confidence that the Moscow team had the opportunity to offer midfielder Zelimkhan Bakaev conditions no worse than those offered by Zenit in the end.
Zenit announced the signing of a contract with 25-year-old Bakaev on June 15. The agreement is for three years with the possibility of extension for another season.
“From the words of Cattani, I didn’t understand the reasons for leaving,” Shirokov said in a conversation with RB Sport. – Zarema says that the player was given incredible conditions at Zenit. As far as I know, what he was given at Zenit, Spartak could give with his eyes closed. I don’t know why we didn’t agree.
– And what, in “Zenith” they gave three kopecks? Erokhin was given 1.8, and Bakaev was given much less.
Not by much, but less. You have paradigms of the past. Some Brazilians don’t have such a big salary and the club is worried that they will go to Europe with the same money. Not so fabulous money. As far as I understand, the club changed to a bonus system a long time ago: you play, you score, you get it. This is normal practice.
In the 2021/22 season, Bakaev took part in 36 games for the Moscow club, scored 3 goals and gave 8 assists. Together with Spartak, he won the Russian Cup.
