It’s time for the former Chelsea owner to go to the RPL. Spartak is the best and most dangerous lot

A popular club, and the team is stronger than its results.

While Lukoil is not going anywhere

The Evraz company, of which Roman Abramovich is a shareholder, predictably denied the information that it was considering the purchase of a sports team, but this does not stop trying to think about why the appearance of the former Chelsea owner in Russian football it would be good news for RPL.

Lukoil is no longer led by Alekperov and Fedun, they have been withdrawn. Nothing unexpected. But they seem to remain billionaires, as well as co-owners of Spartak. And this particular club could be a good choice for any new owner, including Evraz. After all, VTB and VEB (even after the formal transfer CSKA another company) will not give up two Moscow clubs. Investing in Lokomotiv? Better in Spartak, it’s much more popular, if you win you become a hero for millions.

But if Fedun and his civil wife stay in the club, which is cheerfully run, and new people arrive, Ragnarok begins. It is not clear who is responsible. Who is responsible for what? The holy war for football history is very dangerous. And buying the whole of Spartak is a crazy, expensive, premature deal. Granovskaya, who has left Chelsea, will be the first to tell Roman Arkadyevich not to make mistakes and not to invest a lot of money in Spartak.

This is only who will then save RPL, if everyone disperses and people indifferent to football turn out to be in key positions in large companies? Abramovich definitely loves the game, maybe he was watching the same CSKA. But Chelsea are much more attractive. Now Londoners are going their own way and Spartak has long been looking for investors, for example in the Middle East. On the other hand, Lukoil still has an indecent amount of money, the football team is not their main financial problem here and now.

Spartak have a decent team

One more reason to take a look. But there are two Maksimenko. One is a candidate for the national team, Safonov’s competitor, and the other has conceded goals after every second shot on goal. There are two Selikhovs. One always has injuries, and the second will reflect the decisive penalty in the closing seconds of the match. The duality of the goalkeeper illustrates well the state of “red-white”. But Moses, Promes, Sobolev, Jikia and Nicholson know how to play football.

Zobnin’s position is also indicative. There are Prutsev, Umyarov, Litvinov, Martins, Ignatov appeared a little closer to the attack. An experienced Roman can be overboard and the basics, and even the Spartak application, if he finds a new club, and only his salary keeps him in reserve. Abascal should definitely solve the problem in the middle of the defense. Without Zhigo, but with Kofrie, Chernov and Litvinov, life will not seem like honey to Captain Jikia. But these are working hours. When Spartak is ready, they run for second place.

It is unclear how the Spaniard will play – “3-5-2” or “4-3-3”, but he certainly plans to strengthen the base. And Abramovich has scouts, who have been paying a lot of money for decades. There are family agents who all know. With the contacts of the former Chelsea owner, Spartak will easily build a champion transfer strategy. Cattani will not necessarily disappoint in this field either, and the name of the club allows it to attract Russian footballers. Spertsyan himself could end up at Spartak in the future, why not? After all, his name was Mkhitaryan, the director was Bakaev.

The “red-whites” have a lot of people under pressure, there are people who have lost or have not had the trust of the public – Rasskazov, Kofrie and Zobnin, as three examples. The latter is respected for the past, but barely sees the center of the camp, which is being built around Roman. There will be a new coach, changes of tactics, a different defensive center, given that Gigot has positively influenced the defense and Cofrie is much worse off. Spartak is interesting for the buyer, because this is not Anji, where it was necessary to recruit the whole team, there was no stadium and a crowd of fans.

Fans deserve Abramovich

Granovskaya and Abramovich made mistakes in football. But they got better and won cups. However, in sports, everything depends not only on the owner, manager and coach. Even some of the sins traditionally attributed to Fedun are on the conscience of those to whom he has paid money. On the other hand, Abramovich has a reputation for success, Granovskaya has an extraordinarily professional reputation, and Leonid Arnoldovich has no reputation as a champion in football.

Spartak did not win the cup Uefalike Zenith and CSKA. The “red-whites” have not been champions twice since Romantsev, although there was a possibility with Carrera, if there were less excitement and more restrained calculation in the Moscow club. The times are not easy, but they are remembered by scandals of various sizes, they do not build a guaranteed sample. We need a solid owner. But the apparitions of Abramovich in RPL strongly disliked by other billionaires, because he can come, adapt and win.

At the same time, he shouldn’t buy clubs in Turkey. If Evraz has money, it is better to invest it in Russian football. Spartak, as a historically significant club, has obligations towards children: to organize school work correctly. There are obligations towards the fans, the team is loved after defeats and this is more precious than the attachment to the eternal winners. Spartak fans deserve Abramovich’s coaches. Another thing is that Lukoil doesn’t want to miss out on the cheap “red-white”.

“Spartacus” is a dubious happiness. There are 9.4 billion rubles of expenses for the season, 3.3 billion in debt. Net debt for a single season, as stated in the latest report RFS – a billion. Attendance RPL will not grow due to the conflict between fans and officials, the decisions hinder the success of the footballer trade FIFA. Abramovich understands that in a crisis you can enter a new championship and win, because even at Zenit not everything will go smoothly and smoothly, there will be reshuffles on the roster, but at the same time he doesn’t want to risk that reputation. A prudent and calculated buyer who knows how to get out of the fire alive will hide his plans. “Spartak” is a blast, Fedun would be happy to get out of it intact, but he froze.

The RFU thanked the Ministry of Sport for the dialogue on the limit for foreign players

Russian Football Federation (RFU) grateful to the Ministry of Sports RF for dialogue on the limit on foreign players. The Secretary General spoke about it in an interview RFU Maxim Mitrofanov.

The Ministry of Sports proposes to tighten the limit for foreign players by 2028 according to the “10 foreign players in the application, 5 on the field” scheme.

“The dialogue is ongoing and the Ministry must be thanked for this,” Mitrofanov said. — Formally, the ministry is not obliged to do so, since it is within its powers to change the limit for foreign players. But it’s important to understand the goal. A limit is one of the tools needed for something. The restriction on the use of players who are not eligible to play for the national team is necessary to stimulate our system of training a sports reserve. In order for everyone to pay attention to this, invest efforts and resources. But, probably, only an integrated approach will work, which takes into account both efforts in the development of the reserve training system, and the creation of conditions to protect our players from unfair competition from players trained by other federations.”

“We note that today the share of foreign players in RPL and the Football National League (FNL) does not exceed 2.5%, plus approximately 2% are players from countries with which we have special agreements: Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. These players are not legally legionaries. That is, the maximum is about 5% of all football players. The percentage of playing time for foreigners is now the same as when it was under the strictest limit, which assumed no more than six foreigners on the field. Both then and now – about 40%. At the same time, the percentage of time dedicated to gaming among young Russians is growing: about 18% of the time RPL players under 23 receive. The number of these players in the national team is growing. Over the course of three years, 26 young footballers made their debut there; they don’t take the field occasionally, but practice thoroughly,” added Mitrofanov.

According to the current limit, clubs RPL can include 13 foreign players in the application and release 8 foreign players on the field. In September, the Russian Football Federation said that the current limit allows for the first time to increase the playing time of young players to 18%.

On the popularity of football

Mitrofanov noted the growing popularity of football. “The popularity of football is growing, the average attendance is also growing, despite football being the only sport where you need a fan card to enter the stadium,” he said. — To some this may seem like an administrative obstacle, but now more than 3.5 million Russians have been issued a fan card. Football is the only sport that can provide 100% accurate data on the number of fans attending matches. Average attendance went from 12.5 thousand to over 14 thousand. This suggests we are approaching record levels for the 2018/19 season.”

“Look at the rankings, which say that we have no more watched and watched sporting events than the matches of the Russian national team, the national championship and the national cup. There are certainly matches of the Champions League, world and European championships, which are competitive and even superior in terms of performance, because they are flagship events. But when compared to other sports, even taking into account foreign competitions, there is nothing higher than football in terms of viewership,” the Secretary General added. RFU.

Mitrofanov noted the correct work RFU for the development of football. “Collectively, this shows that we are moving in the right direction: developing youth and investing in football reserves. It is important that even at a meeting of representatives of the association of national football coaches, they said that there may be different interpretations of the limit in terms of demands, but there should be no limit on the field, because a coach is not a mathematician to calculate how many foreign players he currently has on the field, whether he can replace a foreigner or just a Russian player. There are restrictions in both hockey. and basketball, but there are none when it comes to stay on the field. In principle, healthy competition in sport, including internal competition, is beneficial,” he concluded.

The RFU hopes FIFA will listen to the IOC’s position on youth teams

Russian Football Federation (RFU) hopes that the International Football Federation (FIFA) will follow the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (THAT IS) subject to the admission of youth teams. The Secretary General spoke about it in an interview RFU Maxim Mitrofanov.

In December THAT IS recommended removing all restrictions for young Russian athletes and allowing them to participate in all competitions with the anthem and flag.

“This recommendation has become an important event for all Russian sports. We see that in many sports international federations are making decisions on the admission of our athletes,” Mitrofanov said. “And there are more and more such decisions.” Recommendation THAT IS plays an important role in this process. Let’s proceed from the fact that FIFA this recommendation will be heeded.”

“At the same time, it is important to understand that the popularity and attention, including at the state and political level, towards different sports in Europe are different. The large international basketball, hockey and football federations are more careful in analyzing the decisions they make. They probably already realized that they have overdone it in 2022. Now it is even more difficult for them to get out of this situation, also because they are afraid of facing the position of a large number of countries which, at the state level, will hinder the implementation decisions about our return,” Mitrofanov added.

Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from international tournaments due to the situation in Ukraine.
