Ex-head of the RPL Khachaturyants resigned from the executive committee of the RFU
Former president of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Ashot Khachaturyants left the executive committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) of his own free will, according to the website of the union.
Khachaturyants was elected to the executive committee on February 4, 2021. Also, the ex-president of the RPL ceased to be a member of the bureau of the executive committee.
On Monday, the general meeting of RPL clubs approved the early termination of the powers of 54-year-old Khachaturyants as head of the league. RFU Secretary General Alexander Alaev was elected as acting president of the RPL.
