Former Scotland international dies of cancer
Former Rangers and Scotland goalkeeper Andy Gorham has died at the age of 59, according to the website of the Glasgow club.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our legendary goaltender Andy Goram after a brief battle with cancer,” the statement said.
In May, Goram reported cancer, with stage four esophageal cancer that had spread to his liver, right lung, three vertebrae and ribs. The football player said that he refused a course of chemotherapy and said that he had no more than six months to live.
Goram was a five-time Scottish champion and a three-time Scottish Cup winner with the Rangers. He made 43 appearances for Scotland.
