Former Manchester United player Andrey Kanchelskis is sure that Rubin Kazan head coach Leonid Slutsky “killed” the team.
Rubin had previously been relegated to the First League, but Slutsky retained his post and continues to work at the club.
– We must watch football correctly and seriously! We have a lot of theorists in our country. For example, we had one theoretician – Slutsky. What did he bring Rubin to? In the Netherlands it was “archived”, in England it was “archived”, and now “Rubin” has killed and destroyed it.
Slutsky is just a theorist, he is not a practitioner. How could Rubin be sent to the First League? He has never played football and does not understand what it is,” Kanchelskis told RB Sport.
Abroad, Slutsky worked in the English “Hull City” and the Dutch “Vitesse”. In the 2021/22 season, Rubin, under the leadership of Slutsky, took 15th place in the RPL standings, scoring 29 points in 30 games.
