Ex-Chelsea player suspects Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United out of fear of losing the Champions League top scorer title to Messi
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has spoken out about the possible departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. Earlier, the media reported that the striker intends to change the club registration.
“Ronaldo, as always, is a player with an ego. The teams he played on were successful. Great, he scores goals, he is praised, he is one of the best players that has ever played this game. It’s okay as long as you win. When you don’t win, now you’re in trouble.
I suspect a little, he has 141 goals in the Champions League, and Messi has 125. He doesn’t want to be out of the Champions League because he wants to be the top scorer in the Champions League of all time,” talkSPORT quotes Cascarino.
Ronaldo was his team’s top scorer this season, scoring 24 goals in 39 matches in all competitions.
