French “Paris Saint-Germain” at a press conference on Tuesday presented Christophe Galtier as the new head coach of the team, follows from a video broadcast on the website of the football club.
The French specialist signed a contract with the Parisians until June 2024. He succeeded Mauricio Pochettino, whose departure was announced on 5 July.
– Proud to lead PSG and feel the responsibility entrusted to me. If I took this position, it is because I am capable of it. However, I won’t be able to do it alone. We will succeed together,” Galtier, 55, said.
The Frenchman led Nice in the 2021/22 season, the team finished fifth in Ligue 1 and reached the French Cup final.
Last season, PSG became the champions of Ligue 1, but were eliminated from the Champions League at the 1/8 final stage.
