Midfielder “Zenith” Zelimkhan Bakaev told how he was accepted by fans of the St. Petersburg club after moving from Spartak Moscow.
When I went to the warm-up, a couple of people just whistled in my direction. Even the children of the academy began to chant my surname, to support me. I thought, “I haven’t really done anything yet, but do I already have such support?” From the podium, where the main group of Zenit fans sat, they didn’t say anything bad to me when I ran nearby during the warm-up.
Will it be easier for me than Dzyube? I hope so. Let’s see (laughs).
Bakaev also named the Zenit player, against whom it is more difficult for him to play.
