Former Manchester United player Luke Chadwick has spoken out about Cristiano Ronaldo’s expected departure from the club.
“Honestly, I was surprised. He had a good season with a poorly performing team. I kind of imagined, at his age, that he would like to finish his career at United. So when the news came out, it surprised me.
It’s disappointing, but I can understand that Ronaldo wants to play in the Champions League. Perhaps this is the right time for him to leave, and the new coach has the opportunity to implement his own philosophy, ”Caught Offside quotes Chadwick.
Ronaldo played 38 matches last season and scored 24 goals.
