The English Manchester United have extended the leave of striker Cristiano Ronaldo to solve family problems, he will not go on the team’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia, a spokesman for the English club said.
On Monday, Manchester United began training at the club base, but the 37-year-old Portuguese does not participate in classes, citing “family circumstances”.
He was given extra leave to solve a family problem. Cristiano’s contract with the club is valid for one more season, and the player is not for sale,” Manchester Evening News quoted Manchester United as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United, as he is dissatisfied with the club’s transfer campaign, and also wants to participate in the Champions League, where the team did not make it to the Premier League last season.
The Manchester United players will fly to Bangkok on Friday. In Thailand, Eric ten Hag’s team is scheduled to play a friendly match against Liverpool, in Australia the Mancunians will play with Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
Ronaldo made 38 appearances last season and scored 24 goals.
