Dynamo Moscow defender Balbuena announced the suspension of the contract with the club
Dynamo defender Fabian Balbuena has suspended the contract with the club for the 2022/23 season, according to the official website of the Moscow team.
FIFA previously allowed foreign players to unilaterally suspend employment contracts with Russian clubs for the 2022/23 season. Dynamo notes that it considers this decision “inconsistent, discriminatory, grossly violating the fundamental principles of FIFA.”
“We are certainly upset by Fabian’s decision,” said Dynamo CEO Pavel Pivovarov. – But the club was ready for the possible consequences of the recent FIFA decision, is actively working on the transfer market and will do everything possible to compensate for this loss, among other things. We thank Fabian for the selfless game for Dynamo and his contribution to winning bronze medals last season, we hope for his soon return to our club.
Last season, the 30-year-old Paraguayan played 31 matches in club competitions and scored 3 goals.
