In Cape Verde, before the start of a football match for the national title, the organizers decided to deliver the ball to the referees in an unusual way, reports El Tiempo.
A barefoot young man riding a donkey reached the center of the field and handed the ball to the referees. The video of this episode quickly went viral.
“While in other countries the ball is delivered by remote control car, in the final game of the league of Cape Verde it is delivered on a donkey,” commented on the episode on social networks.
On Saturday, in the final match of the play-offs of the Cape Verdean national championship, Academica de Mindelo beat Palmeira 1-0.
