Former Zenit striker Artem Dzyuba decided to keep fit at Rubin because of Kazan head coach Leonid Slutsky, a source close to the footballer told RT.

The 33-year-old striker arrived at the location of the MELBET First League club on July 12. The striker is confident in Slutsky’s work methods and has no doubt that he will help him approach the season in optimal condition. At the same time, Dzyuba is not negotiating a transfer to the Kazan club.

Dzyuba has been playing for Zenit since 2015. His contract with the Petersburgers expired in June, and he is currently a free agent. In total, he played 249 matches for the Blue-White-Blues, scored 108 goals and gave 71 assists. Four times as part of the St. Petersburg team, he became the champion and owner of the Russian Super Cup, two times – the winner of the Cup of the country.
