President of “Torpedo” Denis Maslov commented on the words of former team coach Sergei Ignashevich about the bad attitude towards him in the club.
Earlier, Ignashevich said that in the Moscow team he was treated inhumanely.
– I don’t know what Ignashevich had in mind when he said that in Torpedo they didn’t treat him like a human being. We exchanged with Roman Ivanovich [Авдеевым — владельцем «Торпедо»] SMS impressions. I think Sergei Nikolaevich remembered the emotions he experienced when the stands shouted at him not the most favorable. Initially, the question was not about the fans? It’s better to ask him a question. I know that Lyapin is friends with Dimka Michkov (Ignashevich’s assistant). He clarified with Sergei Nikolaevich, and he seemed to say that he was talking more about the atmosphere, and not the club.
More human? Borodyuk never dreamed of how we treated Ignashevich. I don’t know how we could have been more humane. Why didn’t you even dream? Well, because they treated Sergei Nikolaevich more reverently, as a young specialist who needs help in everything, chewing everything, trying to let him steer somewhere himself; even if you do not agree, do not interfere, let him make a mistake, let him make the right decision, show him that he is in charge, that he is a big boss.
He needed to be given confidence. Therefore, he was treated more sparingly. And to all his requests, too. There wasn’t one that we didn’t do. None! There were many requests inside and out. Sergei Nikolaevich is a modern person, as a coach, as a manager. Tries to understand all the processes taking place in the club. Naturally, he has his own opinion on each of these processes, ”Championship” quotes Maslov as saying.
Under the leadership of Alexander Borodyuk, Torpedo won a direct ticket to the RPL last season. In the 1st round of the Russian Championship of the 2022/23 season, Muscovites will host Sochi on July 17 at home.
